- Tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey as an
entrepreneur
I came to Canada in 2010, as an international student. I took an electronics engineering technician program for two years in Niagara college near Niagara Falls. I am born and raised in a small village of Punjab; India called Lalowal.
I have always been doing side hustles since 2013. I started a cleaning company in 2013 that didn’t really get any client and followed by an electronics automation company. In 2015, I discovered Amazon FBA. I watched 1000s of hours of video on how to sell on Amazon and did pretty well for 3 years. When I started AMZ One Step, I sold my Amazon private label brand IPTV company that I had at that time. Since then, I am focusing on AMZ One-Step and that is my primary gig.
2. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job?
When I work on my own company or with my team. It gives me the satisfaction of work. When you see your idea of turning into reality, it is the best feeling ever.
I have realized that the job will never be able to give the freedom and control on my own time. Even though I loved my job, the growth was just not enough for what I have dreamt of.
Also, I am young enough to take the risks in my life. So I better do that now than later.
3. What was the vision behind it?
My vision was to become the leading service provider in the Amazon FBA industry and I strongly feel that we are up there. Now, I want to educate Amazon sellers on Listing Images. Why these are so important and how can they create highly converting listings with high-quality photos.
4. Describe the services that you offer to your customers and in what
the way they are unique?
We offer product photography, listing optimization, EBC, and PPC management services to Amazon sellers. We are unique in such a way that our research process is very comprehensive, we spend hours on understanding the benefits and features of the product. Our listing images are a combination of product photography, graphic, design, art, and creativity.
5. What difficulties which you have faced or you are facing?
The main difficulty is keep up with the changes that Amazon comes up with. That’s also a beautiful part where we have to keep learning.
6. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a
person/startup?
The omnichannel approach has helped. We tested a lot of things fast like google SEO, ads, meetups, social media, conferences, collaborations, outreach, etc. Obviously, it took 3 years to get the fruits of it.
7. How your company is helping India to grow?
Our company is helping Amazon sellers around the world and India is one of them. Our goal is to improve their sales on Amazon.
8. In your opinion what are the keys to success?
Consistency and hard work I believe are the two key components of success. You might feel you are not getting the results that you desire but if you keep working hard consistently in the right direction. Success is not too far away.
9. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur?
Just start and get your idea in the market. You can improve your services or products along the way based on market feedback. If you don’t start you wouldn’t find out if there is any demand for it. My advice is not to delay things and just do it as the Nike slogan says.
