Interview with Preethika Shenoy | Life Coach

We invited Preethika Shenoy, a Life Coach for an interview with Most Popular Stories to know more about her entrepreneurial journey.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey as an entrepreneur

After working for 11 years as an IT professional, I started a side hustle on weekends on training and coaching on topics: Productivity and Manifestation. As my number of clients increased, I quit my IT job and started pursuing coaching full-time.

My passion for this topic of productivity comes from always being fascinated by human psychology as a kid. How stress, competition, social media, and many other factors are affecting the productivity of young adults became one of the core topics I have been extensively researching for since past 8 years.

While I loved my IT job, there was always an inner voice that I needed more. So, I set off on this journey of finding myself and enhancing my skills. This journey led me to train myself on how to be an amazing coach and I found my true passion in coaching.

As someone practicing the Law of Attraction for 8 years, I started attracting more and more clients which made it increasingly difficult to manage both my IT job and my coaching at the same time.

Initially, I had thought of only taking a break from IT. But after I published my book The Art of Manifestation, my client numbers shot up, which made me consider this profession full-time, more seriously.

2. What was the vision behind it?

In 2014 I found myself in depression, working in IT startups and not able to find a stable job for 2 years. This is when I stumbled upon the Law of Attraction and within a month, I got a stable job 4 months later, I got my dream job of working in a gaming company. As I had a lot of inclination toward human psychology, my curiosity on why the Law of Attraction works got the best of me and for the last 8 years, I have been working on finding out how people can be more productive using psychology and various manifestation techniques.

My mission now is to help young adults who are struggling with issues like procrastination, stress, anxiety, fear of failure, and many others, be consistent at maintaining healthy habits, and be productive every day so that they can achieve their goals.

3. Describe the services that you offer to your customers and in what way they are unique?

My coaching mainly consists of understanding how our brain reacts to various tasks, social media, risks, etc., and how to use that to train our brain to be more productive every day. In addition to this, I also train my clients on how to handle stress and negative emotions and use the Law of Attraction to attract the right opportunities to get closer to their goals.

4. What difficulties you have faced, or you are facing?

The biggest and only difficulty I had was selling my course. As I grew up in a middle-class family where a 9 to 5 job is considered an aspiration, I had thought that sales is not my cup of tea. I was not very good in the beginning, but I improved over time.

5. How do you handle pressure and manage stress?

As someone coaches me on how to manage stress, I can manage my stress well as I have a very structured work schedule. I work only 4 days a week and I take a 30-minute break between each client call. During the remaining days, I do creative work like learning some new skills or adding something new to courses for 1 or 2 days and the remaining days are for my family.

6. How do you market your business?

I am making the most out of the digital age and using social media to market my business.

I create many Challenge gigs on WhatsApp groups like Vision Board Challenge, Self-Love Challenge, 7 days of Building a Habit, etc and I spread the word through Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

I also got a lot of clients through my book.

7. In your opinion, what are the keys to success?

Before knowing the keys to success, I believe that defining your success and knowing your “WHY” are important.

The definition of success and happiness differs from person to person, and it is of the utmost importance to have clarity on what your success looks like, and is it really your version of success or is it influenced by society.

Once you have clarity on your success, I believe the keys to success are:

·  Self-Love

·  Perseverance

·  Being a Lifelong Learner

·  Courage to take risks

· Enjoy the journey

8. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur?

·  Read/write your goals every day so that you don’t lose focus and procrastinate.

· Learn to manage your time and schedule extensively.

· Set goals with realistic deadlines.

· Schedule proper sleep time and exercise time.

· Do not compare your journey with others who are going on a similar journey. Compare only with yourself the previous day.

· Have a powerful morning routine and night routine.

· Do not put too much pressure on yourself and beat yourself up for every idea that doesn’t go well.

· Be grateful for the privilege to be an entrepreneur.
