Docttocare has made a huge name for itself in these four years and has attempted to enable universal access to high-quality medical attention in the form of competent doctors, state-of-the-art equipment, and nursing support. It is an online healthcare portal that enables people living in non-metro areas to access quality healthcare services by making appointments in metro cities, arranging transportation, etc.
Currently, Docttocare has partnered with many reputed hospitals such as Apollo Hospitals, ARTEMIS, Sakra Hospitals, etc. Their ultimate aim is to enable universal access to quality healthcare by bridging the existing gap between urban and non-urban areas.
So, this week we invited the founder of Docttocare, Sugandha Agarwal for an exclusive interview with MostPopularStories. Let’s read more about her journey so far, and her advice for aspiring entrepreneurs:
- Tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey as an entrepreneur
I am the founder of Docttocare, I have worked with an indomitable spirit to achieve my dreams. I am an engineer in electronics and communication but did not have the passion for it.
Before launching, Docttocare, I used to work with a reputed organization. I was a hard worker I used to do a lot of things like having partnerships with various hospital brands, building a unique end-user acquisition strategy, I also used to spend a lot of time with product positioning, etc. I love to travel and by nature, I love to paint.
- Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job?
By seeing that the death of patients is increasing day by day. I also noticed that medical facilities are so expensive because people do not address their minor health issues.
- What was the vision behind it?
Provide the best healthcare facility to tier 2 cities people.
- Describe the services that you offer to your customers and in what the way they are unique?
Docttocare allows the users to schedule their appointment with the right doctor or hospital, which is best for their health and which is cost-effective. Docttocare app also arranges transport, so the patient has no problem in going to the doctor or hospital. It also arranges money for them. Therefore, those needy patients who cannot afford the expensive surgeries and medicines do not have to worry and have their health back to normal.
- What difficulties which you have faced or you are facing?
Female solo founder, Building a team.
- How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?
I do exercise on daily basis. There are so many challenges you face when you start any business but be truthful with your team. And one most important thing is choosing your surroundings very wisely. Friends, family or people who we work with are the most influencer in our journey. When I am in stress I talk to them and try to solve the problems.
- What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup?
Spend time on your mind. Be updated all the time.
- How your company is helping India to grow?
I want to take healthcare in India to a much higher level. We have a dearth of doctors in this country and the patient count is undoubtedly increasing. People often ignore their minor health-issues, either due to lack of healthcare service or because of effort/cost that may go into addressing it. Awareness of health issues would be our next goal. How can we help them to be healthy without investing much?
- In your opinion what are the keys to success?
Belief in yourself, never give up, work harder. Do not be scared of failure; it is the part of the deal to be successful.
- What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur?
In this modern age, starting a business or startup is full of challenges. When a new entrepreneur starts his first business, he does not realize the risks and challenges that would come in the nearby future.
Do not limit your challenges; challenge your limit.
