We invited Dr. Karthik Narayanan, the CEO and Founder of Sugaradhana and Lit Skills Learning for an interview with Most Popular Stories. Let’s get to know about his entrepreneurial journey.
Dr. Karthik Narayanan is a purpose-driven and passionate individual. He is a seasoned entrepreneur, a business leader, keynote speaker, Business coach, changes enabler, and mentor. Above all, he is well known by everyone as the founder and CEO of Sugaradhana and Lit Skills Learning. Now, his major goal is to teach every rural child in India,: how to speak, write, and read in English, as he believes that the language is the door to global opportunities. Now, let’s take a look at a small interview that was conducted with Dr. Narayan.
- You had a corporate career. What made you switch you choose entrepreneurship?
I have worked with numerous corporate organizations for 9-years, but in return, I never received the job satisfaction through it. But on the other hand, I didn’t have any intension to become an entrepreneur. It was very tough and could not see the struggle of Indian Rural Youth struggling to get a job post their Graduation, INDIA’s Biggest Burning Problem is Employability Upon Graduation – So, that made me to make a decision and step and started a revolution which in turn turned out to an Entrepreneurial journey It’s just for a social cause, that’s all. You can call it social entrepreneurship, where I aim to empower all the 21st-century learners so that they can have a bright future. All thanks to my Guru/Mentor – Late Shri Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Sir and Dr. Veerendra Heggade –President & Dharmadhikari – SDM Educational Institutions passion for creating schools that made me choose entrepreneurship over the corporate world.
- Can you briefly provide a bit of background information about Lit Skills Learning?
Lit Skill Learning is an online educational platform for all children. It will provide children with a blended learning experience and also provide them with online resources, quizzes, and assessments, interactive entertainment and activities, etc. Apart from that, the platform will also deliver personalized coaching and mentorship to each child who lacks the important skills of the English language. Lit Skills Learning is also into Teacher Training Programs and Enrichment Programs on Science and English.
- Can you share some information about Sugaradhana?
Sugaradhana is India’s first Organic Antimicrobial Disinfectant Solution Provider, which is made entirely from citrus-based organic and natural Vegetables and Fruits Waste ingredients. The Solution is an effective surface and air disinfectant, antimicrobial Solution which is completely nonalcoholic, Non-carcinogenic, and completely safe.
The product is Bacteria tested, Dermatology tested and also Virology Tested as well, which has the efficiency to kill any dangerous virus within 10 seconds from air to the ground. Lab reports available. During the Pandemic and nationwide lockdown, a team of health experts, medical doctors, and international coaches all teamed up and wanted to come up with a unique and innovative method to tackle the spread of COVID 19 virus against the usage of Sodium Hypochlorite solution which is just a common bleach agent.
Dr. Karthik Naryananan was the brainchild behind this mission and over the period of time, the solution was prepared and was also lab tested and turned out to be an Effective Antimicrobial Organic Solution, keeping nature in mind. - What does the word “Sugaradhana” mean?
The word “Sugaradhana” carries two powerful Sanskrit words. The word “Suga” means Health, and “Aradhana” means Worship. This has completely transformed into a common man’s initiative to fight against the Coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic. I and my team are doing our best to help the needy through this particular journey. A common man’s Initiative towards Mankind.
- Are there any ongoing projects on Sugaradhana?
Yes, there is. Team Daksha and Sugaradhana mentored by the superstar of South Indian Films, “Thala” Ajith Kumar and MIT Campus – Anna University and Center for Aerospace and Research – Chennai headed by Dr. Senthil Kumar.
Team Daksha and Team Sugaradhana are currently concentrating on helping the government of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, by spraying out the disinfectant over a massive segment of the state, to stop the spread of the novel Coronavirus by using the special UAV drones, which are designed by MIT-Anna University, Chennai.
- What can you tell us about Daksha? What are the specialties of these drones?
The name “Daksha” was given by our nation’s late president, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. This department is Headed by Dr. Senthil Kumar. The specialties of these drones are that they are utilized with low-volume sprayers. These drones have the power to kill the virus that is present in the air, along with the infection-causing bacteria. The drones can carry up to 16-liters of our organic solutions and will fly for 5-hours. These drones are basically built for agricultural purposes and run on batteries.
- After using these drones, what were the results?
Yes, we used these drones in several areas of Bangalore South – Under the direct supervision of BBMP South Zone Bangalore – and the outcomes were excellent. There was not a single new or fresh case of COVID-19 in all the containment zones, post spraying for 12 days, and also have the proof of concept for the same issued by BBMP Joint Commissioner – South Bangalore. Currently, we are planning to widen our reach and make sure to cover as many places and areas as possible. I can do all these things due to the massive support and guidance, which I have received from the medical professionals, Bangalore City Police, Bangalore Rural Police, and Dr. Veerendra Heggade – President – SDM Educational Society.
- Are you happy the way your life is right now?
LIFE IS ALL ABOUT ENDLESS OPPURTUNITIES.
I have gained plenty of experience and had some great teachings. My primary goal is to help the younger generation receive proper education so that they can receive numerous opportunities. Apart from that, I also wish to help people come out of fear of this pandemic situation and stop the COVID-19 spread and make sure to help every individual during such serious conditions.
