The early years of Tarang
Tarang was not like the usual 27 year olds who take over the family business when they run out of options. Rather he is a born leader, whose timely intervention gave a totally new direction to the family business and took it to a new height.
In his early years Tarang tried his hands in the field of advertising and sales promotion, following which he also devoted some time to the preparation of Civil services. But Tarang found his real calling in the field of business.
Tarang’s take over
At the time when Tarang had returned to Chhattisgarh, the business was like any other successful business operating in the fields of automobile and mining.
However the business was destined to take a new shape when it ventured into the field of energy. Soon Tarang took over the business and gave it the name by which it is known to the world today_ ICON solar en Power technologies. While earlier solar energy projects were only seen as a means of diversification, with Tarang’s take-over, it has become the chief focus of the business.
The business under Tarang
Although it has been merely six years since Tarang took over and gave the business this new direction, the business is today witnessing a turnover of about Rs 100 crores. The company manufactures the finest photovoltaic modules. In fact until recently Tarang’s ICON solar en Power technologies was the only company that was manufacturing the PV modules in the Central regions of India.
The Future ahead
Under Tarang’s directorship, the company has already come a long way. While earlier the company commissioned merely 25MW capacity, today it has 125 MW and names such as L & T group, the state governments of Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan among its clients. With the increased thrust towards cleaner energy throughout the world, Tarang also looks forward to driving India towards a greener future and expand the capacity of the company to 200MW.
