Internet Access Has Now Become Even Cheaper With Wi-Fi Dabba

Internet is the most precious resource that every person out there requires. It’s quite a powerful tool that brought all of us quite closer to each other. But when it comes to India accessing the Internet, things are still quite expensive. But in 2016, Shubhendu Sharma and Karam Laxman busted this misconception with a great deal of zeal and courage. They opened a start up named Wi-Fi Dabba which provides internet along with a Wi-Fi connection at an affordable price range. You just need to solve a captcha verification code and that’s it. You will be allowed to access the internet only by using this simple method.

How it all began?

Both the founders exclaim that the Wi-Fi Dabba is actually the offshoot of another app. The entire journey began in 2016 when Wi-Fi Dabba offered its cheap internet services to the various local shops. Users are allowed to buy tokens to use internet amounting to 2 for 200MB which will remain valid for the next 24 hours. The company has tested a free internet model with an advertisement backup. This privilege allows users to access internet free of cost if they are able to watch an ad after every 45 minutes. The duo first met with each other CIIE, IIM-Ahmadabad while working together. Their chief objective is to make internet easily accessible first in their native city and then in the entire India.

A comprehensive team working collectively

Both Karam and Shubhendu are looking forward to make the internet access wide spread in various shops, offices and homes. Each of the connections comes with a Wi-Fi Dabba Giga router which has been empowered by the Dabba OS. You can use their network anywhere and at any time by using an OTP and mobile number. The company’s endeavor has truly been proven as a feasible option to use the internet without investing exorbitant amounts.

Karam’s Viewpoint

Karam Lakshman

Karam says that the number of mobile data users are 45 million in India whereas there are only 20 million broadband users at the most. What he opines is that this is a complete failure for a nation like India. Hence, they are making the best of their endeavors to make internet as cheap as possible. This will lead to an upsurge in the number of internet users reasonably in our country. The company comprises 40 team members right now including network artists, engineers, designers and field executives and will hopefully make internet even cheaper than a toffee.
