Siddhant Singh Rajput is a young-blood entrepreneur from Amravati, Maharashtra, who has already established two companies to his name. At the tender age of 20 years, he had managed to take, not one, but two start-ups off the ground, HiQuik Technologies, a social media networking platform, and WebShark Web Services, web development and digital marketing concern, in Bangalore, India. And now, at the age of 23, he has worked with over 500 happy and satisfied clients from over 11 countries and is known for his quality of work and punctuality in the delivery of projects.

While, both, HiQuik and WebShark are his brainchildren, the former is his passion. He loves to play around with code and has been doing so ever since pre-university. He also loves to interact with like-minded people, to understand the current trends and growth prospects of the business and implements the same to his start-ups. When he is not cooking up code to fuel his websites, he can be found cooking food in the kitchen to fuel his passion for cooking. Other than this, he loves to play sports and often goes on solo-trips to find his peace of mind.

With so many clients’ worth of experience and years filled with passion, he is looking to grow his companies to new heights, with the foundation set in client satisfaction.

  1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey as an entrepreneur.

I was born and brought up in Amravati, Maharashtra. As I was always addicted to technology, I chose to make my career in the technological field. To pursue my higher studies after the 12th grade, I moved to Bangalore, the IT Hub of India, in the hope that it would be fuel my passion. My interest inclined towards the development of websites and coding, and so I chose to pursue a B.Sc. Degree. During my college days, I worked on a freelance basis to develop many websites. It was during this time that I also launched free music and video song streaming platforms. I always aimed to make my mark in the digital era by inventing solutions that would make people’s lives easier.

After college, I started working as a software engineer in a start-up in order to learn more about the rudimentary of the corporate culture. Back then, I would dedicate my days to the company work obligations and would keep the nights aside to pursue my dream project — HiQuik Technologies, a new-gen social media platform. After a year and a half of that hustle, I quit my job and started my web development firm — WebShark Web Services. My idea behind WebShark was to provide people with a one-stop solution for everything website related — be it web development, digital marketing, graphic designing, app development, or even custom software.

Today, WebShark Web Services serves more than 500 happy clients from over 11 countries across the globe. As for my dream project, — HiQuik Technologies — I launched a beta version in 2019 and I am working to make it available in the public domain soon. It’s a platform for like-minded people and I hope that it will bring multifarious communities together. We are still experimenting on how to make it more unique and fun, so look out for HiQuik in the near future.

  1. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job?

While working in a corporate company, I realized that large companies tend to focus on only one thing — maximizing shareholder’s profits. They’re not wrong in doing so, of course. That is the only way that they can employ a larger workforce and increase the country’s employment ratio. That is their principle of operation. Everyone has their own set of objectives and principles and I had mine.

I thought it better to start my association and start small, in an attempt to help and empower the community. Maximizing profits is the basic principle for many corporate companies because that is what the study of business principles dictates. An entrepreneur is bound by no such rules. I wanted to use that opportunity to exercise my innovative freedom and see if I could make an impact in the real world by solving real problems. And as I have experienced, there is no greater joy than being able to exercise your freedom to create solutions that you know will help people.

  1. What was the vision behind it?

As the entire world is heading towards a technological revolution, we, at WebShark, aim to become the instigator of affordable software solutions to communities around the globe. We intend to become a household name when it comes to providing efficient and economical web solutions.

With HiQuik Technologies, I intend to create a space where people can come together to collaborate on their field of proficiency and exercise their creative freedom for the world to see. We want to bring out the latent talent in the young blood. The talent which is otherwise suppressed by the, sometimes, burdening academics. We are working on it constantly to present something that the public domain has never witnessed before.

  1. What difficulties which you have faced or you are facing?

Difficulties are a part of life. They’re the hurdles that everyone faces. One can choose to go over them and learn to overcome them, or go around them and take the easy way out for temporary relief. Eventually, all of us must make the difficult choice of stepping out of our comfort zone to pursue our ambitions and dreams. I came across such a crossroad back when I had left my first job.

In the period between my resignation and the establishment of WebShark Web Services, I had to contemplate whether to step out of my comfort zone and establish a start-up or to take the easy way out and join another corporate job. Unknown to the market scope at that time and having very limited savings in my account, I was perplexed on which path to choose.

Looking back at those days, I am not sure how I managed to brave the security of the comfort zone and took the leap of faith to establish WebShark. Needless to say, that the struggles were justified and that that was, hands-down, the best decision of my life.

  1. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?

I think that any situation or contingency in life can be managed by altering one’s perspective of it. Work stress is an indicator of the fact that there is work to stress over. Any entrepreneur who has a lot of work stress should sit back and take a moment to realize that in her/his past, there must have been days of no work. In those days, we entrepreneurs pray for the business to take off; and so, when it finally does, we should take a moment to be grateful for the work stress.

Even then, if the perspective alone is not sufficient, I usually make a list of all the tasks at hand and their respective priorities. This way, I can look at the bigger picture and delegate work accordingly. I am thankful to have found a team that looks at the same dreams about WebShark‘s future I do.

  1. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup?

The principles which I have always adhered to are those of continued dedication and persistence. I was always the kind to never give up. In retrospect, I think this headstrong nature of mine was what kept me dedicated through the hardships of my establishment period. Of course, I had ample of support too; friends, family, colleagues – all of them helped me out immensely. My dedication is further fuelled by their support because whenever I think of giving up, there’s always the thought that I cannot let them (my close ones) down, that I cannot let their support go in vain.

Ideas have a tendency to fluctuate between success and failure, but that should never keep you from working them out. Successful ideas give you the passion to go forward directly. Failed ideas give you the passion to turn them into successful ones. As I said before, persistent and dedicated efforts have made me what I am today.

  1. How your company is helping India to grow?

India is in a phase where it’s peaking in the Digital Revolution. Everyone — from the smallest street vendor to the biggest of MNC — is adopting ways to make themselves more digital and more accessible.

WebShark‘s role in this entire phase is to become a catalyst to the process. Instead of only focusing on those who have the resources to make themselves visible to the globe, WebShark also focuses on people who wish to expand and grow their business but lack the resources to do so. We try to put forward the most innovative solutions to bring about a paradigm shift in the way business takes place online. We hope to give all businesses — big or small — an equal field so that they may realize the latent potential in their business and grow it.

Our tagline — “Efficient. Elegant. Economical.” — is a testament to our ambitions.

  1. In your opinion what are the keys to success?

My 7 key factors to success are:

  • Do and Dare
  • Double Your Failure Rate
  • Use Your Will
  • Determine and Commit
  • Excellence is a Necessity
  • Vision is Vital
  • Go to Success
  1. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur?

Entrepreneurship is a journey of varying proportions. Everything is a possibility. Success and failure are just a part of the ride. There will be victorious days and there will be unsuccessful ones too. How you go forward from both of those days depends on you. It depends on your courage, your attitude, and most of all, on your perspective.

If you have the courage to go forward with your idea, if you have the attitude set to win, and if you are ready to gain the perspective of loss as much as gain, then I would urge you to pursue your dreams. There will always be hurdles to overcome, irrelevant of what you do. What matters is the amount of satisfaction and glee you feel after overcoming those hurdles.

Life is a game, and if you are in a slump, then know that it is not over, it is just half-time. You can choose to walk out and give up or you can choose to play and give it your all. After all, the only way to win is to play.
