Interview with Anupam Chatterjee | Founder and CEO of TheDecisionLabs Consulting Private Limited

We invited Anupam Chatterjee, Founder & CEO of TheDecisionLabs Consulting Private Limited for an interview with Most Popular Stories to know more about his entrepreneurial journey.

  1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey as an entrepreneur

My name is Anupam Chatterjee. After 9 years of corporate experience, I jumped into the Entrepreneurial venture in 2014. My last role was leading new products and innovation in WNS, during which I won entrepreneurship challenges which inculcated in me the confidence to start on my own. I am excited about the thought of touching and changing
lives.

I am in my 6th year in Entrepreneurship with TheDecisionLabs, and happy to inform that we could touch more than 2 million lives across 6 countries, with our tech platforms

  1. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job?

I believe entrepreneurship is an attitude more than a profession. It is the urge to know the unknown, to see the unseen and test one’s capability in the process. I feel even in my last couple of jobs,  I was enjoying my roles as an innovation/new product head which helped me to shape the future and experience the joy of creation.

Being an innovation head incorporates profiles and winning entrepreneurial challenges, automatically paved the way for new entrepreneurship as a full-time engagement.

  1. What was the vision behind it?

I have been fascinated to test my boundaries, be it in traveling or learning new things or testing new ideas. Entrepreneurship gives me the space to try things and shape the way I would like the world to be in the future.

  1. Describe the services that TheDecisionLabs offer to customers and in what way they are unique?

We work specifically in the field of Patient Experience, an extremely important but neglected area beyond the US, UK, and Australia. We are digitizing the entire Patient Experience space with the help of our Product portfolio – CEMPIA, Liveserviz, and KlikHelp. With the help of Advanced Analytics and AI, we are completely transforming the PX space across countries and making the healthcare experience like never before.

In last few months however, we are getting lots of interest from the Retail, Banking, insurance, and Hospitality sector to extend our services to these areas.

  1. What difficulties which you have faced or you are facing?

As  PX(patient experience)  is a new field in this part of the world, we do a lot of information sharing with our prospects to show the importance of PX  with our prospects and clients. We learn from our clients and also share best practices what we learned from other clients in the process

  1. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress?

I love to watch movies or go for long walks in the late evening to reduce stress. Generally, I enjoy traveling and meeting new people which gives me great energy. However, in these COVID 19 lockdown days I am spending more time with my family, so my wife Sataksi (who is also a doctor) and I watch documentaries or web series on varied topics in youtube/NetFlix/amazon prime every night.

  1. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup?

I have always placed myself in the position of the client or the partner. This has immensely helped me to empathize with their needs and create sustainable relationships, to me creating relationships is the fundamental pillar of creating a successful business, so I invest a lot of time in creating new relationships and building on existing ones.

  1. How your company is helping India to grow?

We work with many Indian hospitals and help to deploy the best in class PX. We have served over a million people in India in the last 6 years across more than 15 Indian cities. We hope to serve more people in the days to come.

  1. In your opinion what are the keys to success?

There must be a driving force, a passion, and a sense of commitment for a cause to taste success. One needs to identify a motive for entrepreneurship – more me it is touching lives and making lives better, which keeps fuelling me to move ahead.

  1. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur?

Each one of us has great potential, identify your strengths, work on them – find complementary skills by partnering or onboarding right people where you lack the skills. Have great mentors, move in the right circles with aspiring people who are driven, motivated, and want to create things and have a positive impact on the world.

Please do not compare yourself with others, we are all blessed in some way – and you don’t need to prove anything to anybody – lead a good life and enjoy the moments.
